Who else was offended by Hola Hovito?

When I first heard Hola Hovito at the end of the Izzo video, I thought it was gonna be Hov's next banger. As I listened to it on the Blueprint I was feeling it, until a statement that made it become the wackest song is this very great album. The cockiness of Jay-z by saying "If I ain't better than Big, I'm the closes one." This statement is crazy. Personally I think Nas is the closes one, and when did Jay get the balls to say this. He goes through his whole career idolizing Big and then he has the audacity to say this. This must have been that armadale and Cris (his champagne of choice at the time) speaking. This has become a controversey in my eyes and divides hip-hop into 2 divisions: the ones who think Hov is better than B.I.G. and the ones who think B.I.G. is the best. I fall in to the latter division. Many who fall into the first category are the youngins in the game of hip-hop (these people may be my age but I consider my self older in the music sense). This controversey sometimes creates beefs between my friends and I. If you don't know the words to Juicy or the B.I.G. interlude (less than 1 minute verse) I can't respect your opinion in music. These are the same kids who think Reasonable Doubt is the best album ever and don't listen to many classics like The Infamous, Ready to Die, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Midnight Mauraders, etc. Besides older people I only find 3 people who I can relate to in music, who are my cousin, and 2 of my friends from my school, with one being from VA and the other being from BK. It is sad but I think we must school these youngins. The 3 best rappers in the modern era (post 92, before that is before my time) in this order are B.I.G., Nas, and lastly Jay-Z. Some people may throw 2pac in there but I am not particularly a fan. We must get this straight, B.I.G. is the GOAT

YES I was... thought it was a nice joint.. another great Timbo banger. But as soon as he said "...and if I aint better than BIG, Im the closest one..." HOV HOW DARE YOU!!!!! And on arguably one of the best Hov albums ever (Blueprint...well, my personal favorite).. anyway, the overall LOW point of the album was that line. That one was more of a stab than a tribute. If u payin hommage pay hommage ninja!!! Jay ESPECIALLY, like all other rappers in the game are lucky Big isnt around anymore!! There would be a lane for everybody to do their thing but we all know Big would be the top shotta!!

I was offended. Especially since Jay mirrored most of his raps off of Big. I frown at people who don't know Ready to Die the entire CD. I agree BIG is the GOAT. I let his tape (see how old I am) rock til my tape popped and then I jacked somebody else. LOL! And I got a mixed tape (lol!) sitting in the drawer next to me. Still get hype off of Story to Tell.

Jay-z is the greatest rapper of ALL time, in the sense of, he's not just a "spitter" he makes songs. At the point of The Blueprint, he had dropped more albums than Biggie...there for he is better than Biggie, thats where YOU dumb people get caught up in lyrics and who can drop the most bullshit non profit mixtapes...guess what who gives a FUCK. Jay-z has came from the hood to a rapper that sits down with white people everyday and they shut the fuck up and actually listen to what he has to say. Don't ever say he fucked up The Blueprint, he has accomplished more than Biggie to that point so if he says if I ain't better than Big then I'm the closest one, he in no way did he say Biggie is wack, he was saying Biggie is the best, but I've done more so now I'M THE BEST...Geez where do you dumb critics get off!?!?! Jay-z The Best Rapper EVER!

you're a dbag if you are going to hate on Jay for this, if anything he is giving B.I.G props saying that if Jay-Z's not the best he is the closest one. If you honestly were offended by this you need either a girlfriend, or a slap in your face. Jay is not in the game to be second best, he is a winner and i feel that every rapper starts out trying to be the best there ever was, otherwise why play there would be no motivation. so stfu and move on buddy.
