Gentrification

Walk on St James Pl and Fulton 15 years ago and walk there today. You'll see a striking difference. 1 maybe Biggie would be on the corner and 2 there were black people. Today This part at the very edge of Bed Stuy is no longer part of the DO or Die hood but now part of the Clinton Hills neighborhood. This is a sign of gentrification. This section where Biggie started to hustle is the first neigborhood that gentrification hit and soon its gonna be like living in Manhattan. Gentrification is when white people move to a neighborhood therefore moving the black people out and raising rents. Its happening all over New York. White people living in Harlem and getting off the train at nostrand on the A. It is crazy and its not gonna stop. Once the Nets move to Brooklyn, downtown Brooklyn will become like Midtown Manhattan. I read that they are trying to phase out Fulton st, they tried to say no one shops there anymore, but go out there after school or on a Saturday afternoon. Kanye had it right when he said Bush doesn't car about black people, and neither do these real estate developers who are taking away our neighborhoods. Its like they are trying to phase the middle class out of New York City. The only way you will be able to live in New york city in the future is if you are rich or poor. These middle class people who own their own homes will not be able to affrod their bills and will be forced out of New York, while sooner or later the poor will only live in isolated areas like Far Rockaway, and places far like that. Soon New York will be like a city from a movie or comic book where the poor rob and kill just to survive. Who will stop it?
